With otome games now making a name for themselves on the market, I thought it would be fun to share with you all my ten favourite otome games. My Top 5 Best Mobile Otome Games This is second and final post of my Best and Worst Mobile Otoge post series! If you want to know what my picks for the Worst Mobile Otome Games were check out the first post, HERE. Mobile games by Hanabi Media are all free. They're fairly quick reads, but still kinda cute (at least in my opinion lol). Re++Alistair (for PC) is also one of my favorite free otome games. Rintarou's daughter – Ema – wants to give the newly-wed couple space, and so she decides to move in a mansion called Sunrise Residence, where her step-brothers live. Ema is happy with her new life in a bigger family, yet each of the handsome brothers begins to show a deeper affection towards Ema. Who will she choose, in the end? Based on the light novel created by Atsuko Kanase, Brothers Conflict had a video game, and a manga adaption, as well. As an otome anime, it keeps the main characteristics you would expect: handsome guys revolving around a girl who simply cannot choose. My God, the horror, this game had a new effing checkpoint every five seconds, it made finishing a chapter almost impossible, that is unless you wanted to shell out cash for a shit ton of micro transactions! Of which I was not want to do, so I dropped that game and never looked back. There’s a paid version of the game now, but I was burned by the free version, and I have no intention of playing it.

I know it’s been a while since the first post and for that all I can say is My bad. I’ve been too busy with real life and other reviews to write get back to writing this post. And honestly, it’s a lot easier to choose games that I disliked over games that I liked. So, I’m pretty picky when it comes to what games I play, and more importantly which games I spend my money on so this list was kind of hard to narrow down. I tried to choose a diverse set of games, but as I said before I’m picky.

I started this game a few months ago with Byron and I absolutely loved his story progression, sure the MC leaves much to be desired, but the story more than made up for that. While both the MC and Byron are “smitten at first sight” the overall romantic progression is relatively slow, on account of them being royalty from two rival countries. The game is not without its issues, but they are typical in free to play games, so I won’t rehash the same things here. But the story more than makes up for those shortcomings! But what really puts this game over the edge is the customization options for your avatar! You can now choose different skin tones in addition to the usual customization!

Hakuouki is probably the most popular in this list, as its franchise is one of the longer, and began in 2008 with its visual novel version. Its otome anime version makes Hakuouki one of the most touching and captivating show of this genre. Its peculiarity lies in the fact that it's a reverse-harem, so Chizuru is surrounded by the handsome men of the Shinsengumi. But since all the main characters were younger high school teens, the game didn’t appeal to me as much. Recommended Routes: Saku Takizawa, Toma Sakai Iris School of Wizardry – Vinculum Hearts Voiced? When it turned out that it wasn’t a raep-fest, well, that improved my interest in playing. I can say that because I played for 12 hours non-stop during the weekend finishing 2 1/2 routes (and that’s with the skip function). Haven’t been playing new games lately, but then I thought I could write about older games, the ones I played before I started a blog to record the games I played and among them I remembered playing the first game, and I remembered being highly ‘impressed’ by it. Too ‘impressed’, perhaps, that I decided to not play any of the other games in the series (until Hikari no Tsubasa came out). My review is this: it’s a tear-jerker game. If you like games where you have to reach for tissue quite often, or where you don’t mind seeing the main character experiencing tragedy and misfortunes, then this is the game for you.
